Which Leelawadee did the old guide mean?
A firsthand Phuket restaurant account published in 2006, with updates through 2013, describes Leelawadee on the route between Wat Chalong and Phuket Town, beside Kajonkiet School. That is a historical identifying description, not an address to use for a meal today. The account describes a casual café and restaurant with Thai dishes and other food. Its menu, prices and impressions belong to those visits. We have not established a current operator channel connecting that exact business with a present-day venue.
What can be said about its current status?
The old listing does not prove the restaurant remains open, but the absence of a verified current listing does not prove it has closed. Leelawadee is a name used by other hospitality businesses, so a similarly named hotel, villa or restaurant is not enough to establish continuity. If you have a particular reason to revisit, seek a current response from the actual venue and confirm its location before travelling. This page provides no current opening hours, booking number or menu for the historical café.
Choose the meal you were looking for
For a relaxed café break, begin with the neighbourhood you will already be visiting and check whether the venue serves a full meal or only drinks and snacks. For local cooking in Phuket Town, use our Thai dishes guide to recognise options such as mee Hokkien and moo hong, then find a current menu that fits the group. If the plan was a south-coast seafood lunch, our seafood guide explains the difference between a restaurant order and buying seafood to have cooked separately.
Keep a backup close to the day’s route
A successful lunch stop need not depend on recovering one old recommendation. Choose the area, desired meal and a comfortable travel distance first; then confirm the restaurant’s service for that day. Agree on a second nearby option if the first cannot accommodate the group. For children or mixed preferences, look at the complete menu before setting out. Our Phuket food planning guide helps fit restaurants, market meals and cooking into a stay without making every meal a separate excursion.
