Look beyond the label
A condo, a hotel and a villa can each work for a longer stay, but the name does not establish what is included. Some accommodation offers a kitchen; some offers regular housekeeping; some gives you more responsibility for daily upkeep. Those are details to verify with the individual provider. Begin with your needs rather than an assumed hierarchy: separate sleeping space, somewhere to cook, help when something breaks, or a place for different members of your group to spend time comfortably.
Ask who does what
Make a small responsibility list for cleaning, towels, bedding, rubbish, maintenance and after-hours access. Ask the provider to explain the actual arrangement for your dates. A front desk, on-site contact or messaging service is useful only when its role and hours are clear. For a villa, establish which outdoor or shared facilities are included and who maintains them. For an apartment, ask how building access and common-area rules apply to guests. Do not infer services from photographs of a reception area or pool.
Compare useful space
Measure accommodation by how you will use it. A large floor area is less helpful if the only desk is in a bedroom used by someone sleeping early. A kitchen photo does not establish whether cooking equipment is provided. Ask for the layout, bed configuration, cooling arrangement and storage details. If stairs, lifts or bathroom access affect your choice, request specific current information. For families or groups, check the permitted occupancy and any charges using the actual ages and number of guests.
Bring every option to the same total
Use the same stay dates and guest count for each quote. Add mandatory cleaning, expected utilities and any recurring service you intend to use. Keep refundable deposits in a separate column and record when they are due back. Compare cancellation and change terms alongside the total, because flexibility has practical value during a longer trip. The best fit may be a serviced room with less space or a larger self-catering place with more household tasks. Choose consciously after the provider has confirmed the details. Keep the answers together so that a discounted headline price does not distract from the arrangement you actually need.
