Start with your passport and purpose
Use the official Thai e-Visa portal and the Thai embassy or consulate responsible for your application. Prepare your nationality, passport type, place of residence, purpose of travel and intended dates before checking the requirements. A month in Phuket is a travel plan, not a visa category. The same accommodation can host travellers with different permissions, and a friend’s previous entry does not establish your eligibility. Save the official instructions you actually used, including the date, and follow the responsible mission’s process for questions about your own application.
Keep the arrival card separate
The Thailand Digital Arrival Card has its own official Immigration website. Consult its current instructions and any applicability or timing information there; do not assume that completing an arrival card grants a visa or decides how long you may stay. Keep the accommodation address and onward travel details available while preparing documents. Check names, dates and passport details carefully against the original documents. Use the official service directly when possible so you can recognise what is being requested and keep track of your own submission.
Plan extensions and onward travel before the deadline
If your desired stay is longer than your confirmed permission, contact Thai Immigration or your responsible Thai mission before building the accommodation plan around an extension. Ask about your actual circumstances and required process. A historical “visa run” article is not evidence that leaving and returning will provide another admission, and transport sellers cannot decide immigration eligibility. This guide intentionally gives no nationality-wide day allowances, fees or promises of approval. Keep enough flexibility in bookings to act on the official answer you receive.
Connect documents with the rest of the trip
Keep secure copies of confirmations and a record of which authority you contacted. Avoid sending identity documents to unrelated transport or accommodation contacts unless you understand the request and recipient. Coordinate the valid travel dates with your month-long stay plan, cancellation terms and onward transport. For a lost passport or a problem requiring your own government’s help, use our official assistance guide. Resolve document questions before treating a room reservation as a settled long-stay arrangement.
