Snorkelling and diving
Ask the operator who the activity is intended for, what experience or qualifications are required and what equipment is included. For diving, confirm instruction and supervision arrangements directly with the responsible provider. For snorkelling, clarify the planned site, water entry and what happens if conditions change. A booking page photograph is not evidence of the sea state on the day. Choose an operator you can question about the actual outing rather than relying on an old destination description.
Kayaking, surfing and fishing
Establish whether the booking is instruction, guided participation or equipment hire. Ask about the group size, route or operating area, current conditions and cancellation policy. Do not assume that owning or hiring equipment establishes that you are prepared for the conditions. For a fishing trip, clarify what is included and any applicable local rules directly with the operator. Keep your itinerary flexible enough to accept a changed or cancelled outdoor plan without depending on a risky last-minute replacement.
Golf, training and other land activities
Check current booking requirements, equipment rental and any dress or participation conditions with the venue. For training sessions, explain your experience and what kind of session you want before paying. If your activity includes a motor vehicle, height, speed or specialised equipment, ask for the relevant eligibility and supervision requirements rather than treating a broad travel category as a recommendation. Compare the complete cost with transport and the time you need to recover or change afterwards.
Make the activity fit the stay
For a family group, verify ages and other participation requirements using each person’s actual details. Agree a meeting point if some people choose a different activity. Keep at least one easy day between plans that would otherwise make your holiday feel rushed. Use the family activity guide, the sightseeing guide and the budget worksheet to connect the outing with your accommodation and travel plans. This guide explains how to compare bookings; it does not certify providers or reproduce old prices.
